Ochnaflavone is a biflavonoid with an ether linkage between the B-rings of the apigenin and luteolin subunits. It has been isolated from several members of the Ochnaceae plant family. It has a role as an antibacterial agent, a leukotriene antagonist, an EC 3.1.1.4 (phospholipase A2) inhibitor, an antiatherogenic agent, an anti-inflammatory agent and a plant metabolite. It is a hydroxyflavone, an aromatic ether and a biflavonoid. It is functionally related to a luteolin and an apigenin.
