PAF is a potent phospholipid activator and mediator of many leukocyte functions, including platelet aggregation, inflammation, and anaphylaxis. It has a role as a beta-adrenergic antagonist, a vasodilator agent, an antihypertensive agent, a bronchoconstrictor agent and a hematologic agent.
