GSK-923295 is an imidazopyridine that is imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine substituted by 4-{(2S)-2-[3-chloro-4-(propan-2-yloxy)benzamido]-3-[(N,N-dimethylglycyl)amino]propyl}phenyl, and (1S)-1-hydroxyethyl groups at positions 2 and 8, respectively. It is an allosteric inhibitor of centromere-associated protein-E (CENP-E) kinesin motor ATPase activity (Ki = 3.2 nM and 1.6 nM for human and canine CENP-E motordomains, respectively). It has a role as a centromere protein E inhibitor, an antineoplastic agent and an antimitotic. It is a secondary carboxamide, a member of benzamides, an aromatic ether, a secondary alcohol, an imidazopyridine, a tertiary amino compound and a member of monochlorobenzenes.
