Hispidin is fungal metabolite first found in basidiomycete Inonotus hispidus (formerly Polyporus hispidus). It has a role as an antioxidant, an EC 2.7.11.13 (protein kinase C) inhibitor and a fungal metabolite. It is a member of catechols and a member of 2-pyranones. It is a conjugate acid of a hispidin(1-).
