LY-2183240 is a member of the class of tetrazoles that is 1H-tetrazole substituted by N,N-dimethylcarbonyl and [biphenyl]-4-ylmethyl groups at positions 1 and 5, respectively. It was developed by Eli Lilly as a potent inhibitor of anandamide re-uptake and fatty acid amide hydrolase, the enzyme responsible for degrading anandamide. It has a role as an anxiolytic drug, an analgesic and an EC 3.5.1.99 (fatty acid amide hydrolase) inhibitor. It is a tertiary carboxamide, a member of biphenyls and a member of tetrazoles.
