N-arachidonoyl-L-serine is an N-acyl-amino acid resulting from the formal condensation of the carboxy group of arachidonic acid with the amino group of L-serine. It is an endocannabinoid-like lipid isolated from bovine brains. It has a role as a vasodilator agent, a neuroprotective agent, a cannabinoid receptor agonist, a pro-angiogenic agent and a mammalian metabolite. It is functionally related to an arachidonic acid and a L-serine. It is a conjugate acid of a N-arachidonoyl-L-serine(1-).
