Promazine is a phenothiazine deriative in which the phenothiazine tricycle has a 3-(dimethylaminopropyl) group at the N-10 position. It has a role as a phenothiazine antipsychotic drug, a H1-receptor antagonist, a serotonergic antagonist, a dopaminergic antagonist, a muscarinic antagonist, an antiemetic and an EC 3.4.21.26 (prolyl oligopeptidase) inhibitor. It is a tertiary amine and a member of phenothiazines.
