Fluoroglycofen is an aromatic ether that is 2-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenol in which the hydroxy group is replaced by a 3-[(carboxymethoxy)carbonyl]-4-nitrophenoxy group. It is a post-emergence herbicide used for the control of broad leaf weeds and grasses. It has a role as a herbicide and an EC 1.3.3.4 (protoporphyrinogen oxidase) inhibitor. It is a monocarboxylic acid, an aromatic ether, a C-nitro compound, a benzoate ester, a member of monochlorobenzenes and a member of (trifluoromethyl)benzenes.
