Robinetinidol is a pentahydroxyflavan that is (2S)-flavan substituted by hydroxy groups at positions 3, 7, 3', 4' and 5'. Isolated from Acacia mearnsii, it exhibits inhibitory activity against alpha-amylase and lipase. It has a role as an EC 3.2.1.1 (alpha-amylase) inhibitor and a plant metabolite. It derives from a hydride of a (2S)-flavan.
