YK-4-279 is a member of the class of indolones that is 1,3-dihydro-2H-indol-2-one substituted by hydroxy, 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2-oxoethyl, chloro, and chloro groups at positions 3, 3, 4, and 7, respectively. It blocks RNA helicase A binding to EWS-FLI1, induces apoptosis, and exhibits antineoplastic activity. It has a role as an antineoplastic agent and an apoptosis inducer. It is a member of indolones, a monomethoxybenzene, a tertiary alcohol, an organochlorine compound and an aromatic ketone.
