DADLE is a pentapeptide comprising of L-tyrosine, D-alanine, glycine, L-phenylalanine and D-leucine residues joined in sequence by peptide linkages. It is a synthetic delta-opioid agonist that induces hibernation, promotes survival of neurons and glial cells in the CNS, and exerts neuroprotection. It has a role as an autophagy inducer, a geroprotector, an antinociceptive agent, an opioid analgesic, a mu-opioid receptor agonist, a neuroprotective agent, a delta-opioid receptor agonist and a cardioprotective agent.
