Acetylfentanyl is a monocarboxylic acid amide resulting from the formal condensation of the aryl amino group of N-phenyl-1-(2-phenylethyl)piperidin-4-amine with acetic acid. It is a fentanyl analog that has emerged as a drug of abuse and linked to numerous deaths in North America. It has a role as an opioid analgesic and a mu-opioid receptor agonist. It is an anilide, a member of acetamides, a member of piperidines, a monocarboxylic acid amide and a tertiary amino compound.
